Billing Specialist for our Skilled Nursing Facility ( SNF )
Compensation: $45,000 - $52,000

Position Description:

We are looking for a full-time, in-person Billing Specialist for our Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) in Valley Stream, NY. The role focuses on patient billing, insurance claims, follow-ups on unpaid or denied claims, and patient billing inquiries.  Monday–Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Qualifications of the Billing Specialist:

• High school diploma required
• Strong attention to detail with excellent organisational skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word
• Ability to quickly learn and effectively use billing software and EHR systems
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities Billing Specialist:

• Process patient billing and submit insurance claims accurately and timely
• Verify insurance coverage and confirm patient demographic and billing information
• Follow up on unpaid claims, rejections, and denials to ensure prompt resolution
• Maintain accurate, up-to-date billing records and supporting documentation
• Communicate professionally with patients to address billing questions and resolve inquiries

Responsibilities of the Accounts Payable ( AP ) Specialist:

• Process and verify accounts payable invoices and payments to ensure accuracy and timeliness
• Maintain accurate vendor records and manage payment schedules
• Reconcile vendor statements and investigate or resolve discrepancies
• Prepare and execute check runs and electronic payments
• Support month-end closing activities, including reconciliations and reporting
