About the Role
The Company is in search of a Chief Data Officer (CDO) to lead the definition and implementation of the enterprise data strategy and governance. The CDO will be a key member of the technology leadership team, responsible for setting the vision for data collection, governance, and utilization to drive competitive advantage and innovation. This strategic senior leader will work to ensure that data is accurate, accessible, secure, and actionable, with a focus on enabling advanced analytics, artificial intelligence, and cross-functional collaboration. The role involves breaking down data silos, establishing a comprehensive governance framework, and leading enterprise-wide data transformation initiatives. The CDO will also be expected to attract, coach, and develop a diverse data team, and to serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership on data-related matters. Applicants for the CDO position at the company should have a minimum of 15 years' experience in data strategy, governance, analytics, or related fields, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role. A strong background in the Property & Casualty insurance industry is essential, as is a proven track record in leading data transformation initiatives and deep expertise in data governance, privacy, and compliance. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of emerging technologies such as AI, machine learning, and cloud data platforms, and possess exceptional strategic thinking, communication, and influencing skills. A Bachelor's degree is required, with a preference for a Master's or advanced degree in a relevant field. The CDO should be a thought leader in data strategy and governance, with a focus on driving a data-driven culture and enabling the organization's data capabilities.
