SEASONAL POSITION THROUGH APRIL 30, 2025

Position Overview

The Tax Processor plays a critical role in supporting tax professionals and wealth advisors with tasks focusing on data entry, document management, and research. This role will support tax preparation processes by ensuring accurate and timely handling of tax documents and related information and will be responsible for assembling, reviewing and processing tax returns. The position requires attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Data Entry & Client Information Updates: Input and update client information across multiple systems with a focus on accuracy and completeness.
  • Document Review: Assist in reviewing financial and tax documents to ensure all information is complete and in compliance with firm policies and regulations before processing or filing.
  • Document Management: Handle the organization, copying, scanning, and filing of client-related documents, ensuring they are stored securely and are easy to retrieve when needed. Assemble and prepare tax returns for delivery to clients. Organize and maintain electronic and physical documents. Ensure all client data and supporting documentation are complete and accurate before processing.
  • Information Retrieval: Retrieve client information as requested by client facing associates to assist with research or issue resolution.
  • Quality Assurance: Perform checks to ensure compliance with SEC, IRS, and/or state guidelines. Cross-reference data from prior year returns to ensure consistency.
  • Issue Research: Support the team by researching client issues or questions related to financial services, tax filings, or account management, and provide necessary information for resolution.
  • Miscellaneous Administrative Tasks: Assist with various back-office tasks such as processing transactions, filing paperwork, distributing bulk client emails, and ensuring that all necessary operational duties are completed efficiently. Prepare engagement letters and other required forms for client signatures. Manage and track filing deadlines to ensure timely submission.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in accounting, business, or related field is preferred.
  • Prior experience in an accounting or tax preparation environment preferred.
  • Proficiency in in tools including Salesforce and CCH Axcess Tax desirable.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with clients and colleagues.
  • Proven experience in document processing and administrative roles.
  • Familiarity with tax documents and basic terminology.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline driven environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong technical aptitude to facilitate daily work and ability to quickly learn required software applications.

Work Environment

  • Full-time
  • In-office during peak seasons, and work from home flexibility one preset day per week during off seasons
  • Monday – Friday 8:00 am – 4:30 pm
